gi signs to Unheard of Hope

UOH is very excited to announce a new collaaboration with the amazing gi starting with the reisue of her stunning EP “Orange Chorus Blonde Reveal” with the first single “Bashing”

On Orange Chorus Blonde Reveal, gi (aka Gigi De Lacy) finds organic beauty and mechanical grit in the grey zones between ambient, techno, and IDM.  “Through extensive sampling, editing, and arrangement,” she explains, “each piece is constructed from phone videos taken in my day-to-day life.”  She then weaves in effects-laden guitar and harmonium, and builds glitchy, kinetic rhythms around the heart of each track, noting, “I want these tracks to make as much sense to punks as they do to warehouse kids.”  A long-time denizen of the vibrant, defiant Sydney punk/DIY scene, gi’s work is informed by tight-knit communities where genres and philosophies coexist: “I’m most inspired when everything overlaps and nothing is discrete, when everyone is unified by the pure impulse to make things happen on our own terms.”
